Cordwood Bathrooms: A Visual Feast of Options

Cordwood homes come in all shapes and sizes and lend themselves to creativity.  Having a well-built bathroom in a cordwood home is important to most people.  Below are some mighty fine examples.

Installing a shower-surround is an effective method of combining the best of both worlds.

If you keep the moisture from directly hitting the cordwood and provide ventilation you should be fine.

The towel bars and mirrors are easy to install on a cordwood wall.

Claw-footed tubs are popular for recycling and it is relatively easy to hang a shower curtain to make it double functional.

Live edge framing adds to the attractiveness of the room.

The photo above is not cordwood, but it gives an idea of what a rock wall will look like.  The cabinets are birch and the chickadee was hand-painted.

This tile and cordwood bath with a jacuzzi gives the best of both worlds.

The Mermaid Cottage (a BnB in Del Norte, Colorado) has over three dozen mermaids.   mermaidcottage.org

The heater, toilet, sink and shower curtain lend all the right stuff to this tiny cabin.

The shower is full-length bottle logs and has a mermaid for good measure.
